Press Release: Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville Proclaims Sept 12-20 to be Drive Electric Week

Mayor of Bellingham, Washington, Kelli Linville, has proclaimed that September 12-20, 2015 is Drive Electric Week in the city. The mayor signed this proclamation on September 1st in anticipation of the week, which will be celebrated on Sunday, September 13th with ride and drives and an electric car show by the North Sound Electric Vehicle Association.

The event will feature a dozen different EV models, including cars from major automakers Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan, Honda, Tesla, and more. As of September 4th, more than twenty individual vehicles have been registered for the event. Many of these cars will be available for test drives at the event, which is hosted by Western Solar, 4041 Home Rd, Bellingham, WA from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, September 13th, 2015.

The event will be attended by Bellingham city council members Pinky Vargas and Michael Lilliquist, and Ferndale city council member Paul Ingram, plus members of the press and dozens of local residents interested in electric vehicles.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee has also proclaimed the same dates to be Drive Electric Week in the State of Washington.

North Sound Electric Vehicle Association is organizing the Bellingham event. Western Solar is the local sponsor. Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association are national organizers.
